SO MANY THINGS TO DO!!!
Here is the list of upcoming shows and events!!
March 9th- Art Showing with the Creative Coalition at The Loft Gallery 203 @ 440 Walnut St. Loft 203
Show starts at 6pm.
March 11th- ECO Make and Take- Spring Edition at Ijams Nature Center from Noon-5pm. Come for an hour
or five. Learn how to transform and repurpose anything you have into something new and functional.
Cost $10. (We do this class once a month, so look for upcoming dates)
April 6th- First Friday at the Art Emporium-lower floor.
April 28th- Ijams Plant Sale
May 7th- OPENING of the Market Square Farmer's Market!!!! EVERY SATURDAY!
May 10th- Steampunk Jewelry Making Class- 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Town of Farragut
May 24th- Recycled Hubcap Painting Class- 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Town of Farragut
Plus there is still time to schedule your Girls Night Out Jewelry Parties, or Salvage Party. And I am still taking custom orders for bridal bouquets and wedding jewelry as well as specialty items for dinner parties, or special events.

Make 2012 your year for Crafting!!!
2012 is cruising along and we have been crafting away the whole time! Thank you all for making the Make and Take workshops a huge success, as well as the salvage jewelry, collage pendants, and painted hubcap classes. I am so impressed with the creativity out there!!!
For those who have never attended one of my classes, it is an artsy mecca of creative madness... to say the least. People of all ages come together to upcycled, repurpose, embellish, transform, and take home treasures that came from old sweaters that were shrunk in the wash, jewelry broken from years ago, old pallets, dingy clay pots, worn pillows, and more.
Imagine- instead of throwing out that old stuff... transform it!!
Plan to attend the next Make and Take Workshop on March 11th from Noon to 5pm at Ijams Nature Center (2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville, TN 37912). Cost is $10 a person- part of the proceeds goes back to Ijams as a donation.
Can't make that date?! Why not have a Salvage Party at Home! I bring everything to you, you just invite your friends, your neighbors, or your family for a girls night in or a fun family affair.
This is the year to learn a new skill, a new craft, or new hobby. These classes are your ticket to keeping those resolutions....we have class at least once a month to keep you in the crafting game!

2012 is the beginning!!!!

Here's to 2012 for one and all.
Though we are only a week into the new year, I am proud to say that this is a year for new things and bigger things. More classes, more shows and festivals, and more specialty creations.
This year, look for the salvage beauty to come out in my work.

Also, I am going to start creating brooch bouquets and custom jewelry for weddings and decorative tables created with vintage jewelry.

Fall into Winter!
Tis the season to hurry hurry hurry and yet, it seems a bit overdone. Why go through another holiday season of rushing and buying.... why not try reclaiming?! Everyone has that drawer of broken items, that closet of unworn clothing, old vases, dusty picture frames. CHANGE IT UP. You will be amazed with a little bottle of paint, some super duty glue, a a tiny bit of time will get you. And Walla- you have Christmas handmade and ready for the relatives!
* Take an old picture frame and put a mesh screen or chicken wire in the opening, and you now have a jewelry holder.
* That wool sweater that you shrunk last year that can now fit your 2 year old... sew the bottom shut and add an old tie or the felted sleeves for the handles and you have a new handbag. To make it fancy, add a brooch or two.
* Speaking of brooches and broken jewelry, take a styrofoam ball and create a brooch bouquet to use as a centerpiece for your holiday parties. Stick the jewelry pieces with the pins or a glue gun, and your sparkly creation will win many compliments.
Other great ideas for gifts- shop LOCAL. Forget Walmart and Big Lots this year, there are so many talented artists in your area who blow glass, create pottery, bead, refashion junk, paint, etc, and your family will love such a unique gift- that noone else can get!!! =)
